Payments and Fees

A transparent list of every fee — service fee, flexible rate, deposit, delivery and subscription.

This Payments and Fees Policy ("Policy") governs all financial terms, service fees, deposits, host subscriptions and payment procedures applied on the carent.az website and in the Carent mobile app ("Carent App", "Platform"), which belong to "CARENT" MMC (limited liability company) ("Carent", "we", "our").

The core principle of the Carent platform is 100% financial transparency — every amount and calculation is shown clearly to the user before the booking is confirmed, and no hidden commission exists.

1. Fees and Costs for Renters (Drivers)

The total amount paid by the Renter consists of the following transparent components:

• Base Rental Fee

The daily price set by the car owner (the Host) × the number of rental days. It is mandatory on all bookings and is determined directly by the car owner.

• Platform Service Fee

An operational fee that covers the uninterrupted running of the system, user and document verification, digital security and 24/7 customer support. It is shown transparently as a separate line on the booking screen.

• Flexible Rate Supplement (Flex)

An optional choice granting the right to cancel with no penalty and receive an immediate full refund at any time up to the moment the trip begins. It applies only where the Renter selects the Flexible rate.

• Delivery to an Address Fee

The service of delivering the vehicle to an address of the Renter's choice (for example: Heydar Aliyev International Airport, a hotel or a private location). It applies only where the Renter selects the delivery service.

• Security Deposit

An amount held as security to ensure the vehicle is returned undamaged, clean and without fines. It is applied in the manner and on the terms stated in the listing.

Discounts and Campaigns

  • Long-Term Rental Discount: Discounts set automatically by the Host for rentals of 3+, 7+ or 30+ days;
  • Promo Codes: Campaign codes issued by Carent are applied on the payment page and create a discount on the total rental amount.

2. Security Deposit Rules

  • Transparency of the Amount: The deposit amount and its conditions are stated precisely and in advance on the listing page for every vehicle.
  • Purpose of the Deposit: The deposit exists to cover minor damage, missing fuel, delays or unpaid speed camera/parking fines that may occur during the trip.
  • Condition for Return: Where the vehicle is returned on time, clean, at the same fuel level and undamaged, and where there are no outstanding fines, the deposit is returned in full.

3. Terms for Hosts (Car Owners and Rent-a-Car Companies)

Unlike traditional high-commission systems (15–25%), Carent offers car owners 0% Rental Commission and a fixed subscription model:

• Fixed Monthly Subscription

A monthly activity fee for listing a vehicle on the platform and accepting bookings (from 19 AZN for Individual hosts, from 59 AZN for Companies).

• 0% Carent Commission

Carent DOES NOT withhold any commission percentage from the car owner's rental earnings — 100% of the income belongs to the Host.

• Bank Processing Fee

A 3% bank processing fee is charged for the secure acceptance of online payments by bank card.

• Premium Listing (Top Listing)

An optional service for moving a vehicle to the top of search results (14 days: 7.90 AZN / 30 days: 14.90 AZN).

4. Payouts of Earnings

  1. Formation of Income: The rental fee (after deduction of the 3% bank processing fee) is reflected in the car owner's internal Carent balance.
  2. Withdrawal Request: The Host may at any time send a withdrawal request from the app to transfer their earnings to their own official bank account (IBAN) or card.
  3. Payment Period: Approved withdrawals are transferred in full within 1–3 banking business days. Carent charges no additional commission for the withdrawal transaction.

5. Administrative Costs, Penalties and Additional Fees

An additional charge may be withheld from the Renter in the following cases:

  • Late Return Fee: Where the vehicle is returned later than the agreed time, an additional hourly/daily rental fee and a late penalty;
  • Fuel Difference: Where the vehicle is returned with less fuel than the level at which it was collected, the cost of the missing fuel;
  • Special Cleaning and Smoking Prohibition: The cost of chemical cleaning where smoking has taken place in the cabin or the cabin has been excessively soiled;
  • Speed Camera and Parking Fines: All penalty reports recorded by the State Traffic Police during the trip.

6. Tax Obligations

  • Car owners (Individual Entrepreneurs and Legal Entities) are obliged to file tax returns independently and to pay the relevant taxes on the income they earn through the platform, in accordance with the Tax Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
  • Carent does not act as a tax agent and does not withhold income tax.
